Materials which have a status of “Laboratory” on OPAC are located in faculties.
These are books which professors purchased for their own research using their own research funds, so as a rule others cannot use them.
For members of Kobe University: we can ask the professor whether he/she is willing to loan the book.
Apply at the information desk or by “application form” .
However, even after applying you may not be able to borrow the professor’s books, and you may have to wait for a long time until the professor replies.
We do not inquire about books that were purchased less than 1 year ago, or multiple applications for the same book.
Please understand that this is a special service for borrowing books, and restrictions may apply.
Even if available, failure to return books by the due date may result in restrictions on future use.
Please use the Book Purchase Request service for useful academic books that are only located in Laboratory.
The library will purchase them and hold them.
