{"id":14650,"date":"2022-01-17T11:53:16","date_gmt":"2022-01-17T02:53:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test-kobe-library.digicototest.com\/?page_id=14650"},"modified":"2026-08-26T09:10:33","modified_gmt":"2026-08-26T00:10:33","slug":"temporaryclosure","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lib.kobe-u.ac.jp\/en\/about\/facts\/temporaryclosure\/","title":{"rendered":"Temporary closure criteria for libraries due to public transportation suspension, weather warnings, etc."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>October 1, 2020<br>partially revised on June 1, 2021<br>partially revised on September 21, 2023<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In accordance with Kobe University&#8217;s <a class=\"link-open\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kobe-u.ac.jp\/documents\/international\/student\/Cancellation_English20210609.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">&#8220;Cancellation of classes and examinations due to suspension of public transportservices, weather warnings, evacuation advisories\/emergency safety assurance measures, or disaster announcements.&#8221;[PDF:183KB]<\/a> (hereinafter &#8220;Cancellation of classes criteria&#8221;), Kobe University Library will make decisions to temporarily close or keep open libraries as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Suspension of public transport services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If the public transport services mentioned in <a class=\"link-open\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kobe-u.ac.jp\/documents\/international\/student\/Cancellation_English20210609.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the Cancellation of classes criteria[PDF]<\/a> are suspended, or if the suspension is announced in advance, the libraries located in the affected area will be temporary closed.<br>However, they will remain open in the following cases:<br>(1) If transport services resume by 6am, the libraries will open as usual.<br>(2) If transport services resume by 10am, the libraries will open from 1pm. However, libraries will not be open if transport is suspended on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Issuance of weather warnings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If a warning (storm, heavy snow or snowstorm) or emergency warning is issued for Kobe City, the libraries will be temporary closed.<br>However, they will remain open in the following cases:<br>(1) If the weather warning is lifted by 6am, the libraries will open as usual.<br>(2) If the weather warning is lifted by 10am, the libraries will open from 1pm. However, libraries will not be open on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Issuance of evacuation orders\/emergency safety assurance measures<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If municipal authorities have issued evacuation orders, or safety assurance measures for areas where libraries are located as of 6am, the applicable libraries will be temporary closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4.
