    Visit (Browsing, Copy)<\/span><\/h3>\n

    Kobe University Library and its collections are open to the general public. Please check opening hours and locations of each library via “Libraries” in sidebar or this page<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    There are security gates in libraries except Library of Research Institute for Economics & Business Administration. Please pass through the gate by your library card.
    \nWe will open the gate if you don’t have it.
    \nPlease check “    Borrowing<\/a>” for more information about library card.<\/p>\n

    \u203bPlease feel free to consult with us when you visit library in a wheelchair. Please contact each library via “Libraries” in sidebar or this page<\/a>.<\/strong>
    \n\u203bWe ask students and graduates at the Open University of Japan to submit student ID card and fill out some documents.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Browsing<\/h4>\n

    Books in open shelves can be read freely.
    \nClosed stacks are not open to visitors in principle. When use the materials in closed stacks, please ask circulation desk. Depending on the type of material, you may be asked to present your ID card.<\/p>\n

    Using the materials in closed stacks at Library for Social Sciences<\/strong>

    \n*Applications for use on Saturdays and Sundays must be made by the preceding Thursday. It is necessary to apply in advance to use the materials in the closed stacks.<\/p>\n

    When specific material is needed, please ask whether it can be used via your university library or nearby library before visiting. For details about it, see “Check library holdings<\/a>“. We will locate and reserve it if possible.<\/p>\n

    Some materials cannot be used, e.g. rare book, book held in laboratory and borrowed by someone else.

    Borrowing<\/span><\/h3>\n

    Borrowing is open to staff and students at Kobe University, and to shown below people.<\/p>\n

    \u30fbGraduates at Kobe University<\/a>
    \n\u30fb    Visitors who have library cards<\/a>
    \n\u30fb    Undergraduate and graduate students at the Open University of Japan<\/a>
    \n\u30fb    3rd grader and more of Kobe university secondary school [JPN]<\/a>
    \nLibrary card is needed to borrow books. Please visit library and submit documents in order to receive it. (Where to go and what to submit can be checked by seeing links above.)
    \nPlease apply for library card from 8:45 till 17:00 on weekday, and you can receive your card immediately. (If you apply on night or weekend, you can receive card and borrow books at a later day.)<\/p>\n

    Notes<\/p>\n

    \u203bBooks cannot be borrowed if library card is not brought.<\/strong>
    \n\u203bYour library card cannot be used by others. Please inform us if it is lost.<\/strong>
    \n\u203bIf your books are overdue, borrowing and renewing cannot be accepted until they are returned.<\/strong>
    \n\u203bIf book has been broken, defiled or lost by you, it would be replaced by the same one. Please ask circulation desk.<\/strong>
    \n\u203bElectronic journal and database provided only to staff and students cannot be used by visitors. If a copy of electronic journal is needed, please check “    Photocopying<\/a>“.<\/strong>
    \n\u203bMaterials may not be used or remain borrowed by visitors if staff or students are need to use it. <\/strong><\/p>\n

    Interlibrary Loan, Check library holdings, Reference<\/span><\/h3>\n

    Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery<\/h4>\n

    Interlibrary Loan\uff08ILL\uff09allows you to get copies of articles and to borrow books if they are not available from your university library or nearby public library.
    \nPlease request this service from the library closest to you instead of contacting us directly.<\/strong>
    \nOur ILL service is supported by     the NACSIS-ILL system<\/a> (Catalog information services provided by National Institute of Informatics). This system ties university libraries in Japan together and cooperates with OCLC<\/a> and KERIS<\/a>.
    \nWe ask other libraries to apply for ILL via the NACSIS-ILL system. If your library is not, please contact us from     this form<\/a>.<\/p>\n

    Check library holdings<\/h4>\n

    When specific material is needed, we make sure whether it can be used before your visiting. Please tell us what you are looking for in as much detail as possible.<\/p>\n

    Reference<\/h4>\n

    Please see “Reference Service<\/a>” for details. However, we may not assist you for some reasons (When it takes too much time and effort, it doesn\u2019t matter survey and research, etc.).
    \nYou can check the holdings and locations of the materials on     OPAC <\/a>.<\/p>\n

    Notes<\/span><\/h3>\n

    \u203bOur services are primarily provided to staff and students at Kobe University, therefore visitors can’t be given priority to.
    \n\u203bSeats cannot be used for self-study. During busy periods, such as exam periods, access to the library may be restricted.
    \n\u203bThere are no parking space so please visit library using public transport.<\/p>\n
